Rodney Baxley Has First Career Hole-In-One

WHITEVILLE – In over 40 years of playing golf, Bladenboro barber Rodney Baxley had never had a hole-in-one … until Wednesday when Baxley aced the ninth hole at Land O’Lakes Golf Club by using a 9-iron to cover the 135-yard distance.

“The pin was on the back and I thought I had hit it over the green,” said Baxley. “But it was in the cup.”

New Superintendent At Vineyard Golf At White Lake

Joey Hulon, a resident of Bay Tree Lakes, is the new superintendent at Vineyard Golf at White Lake located between Elizabethtown and White Lake. Hulon was the former Golf Course Grounds Maintenance Trainer at The Plantation At Point Vedra, Florida where he worked from October 2017 to present.

Hulon graduated from South View High School in Fayetteville and studied marine biology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

USDA To Mail Additional Pre-Filled Applications To Producers Impacted By 2020-21 Disasters

Key Dates For Upcoming Midterm Elections

Bladen County Board of Elections director Chris Williams on Tuesday released key dates for the upcoming midterm elections during the regularly scheduled Board of Elections meeting.
