BLADENBORO – Union rallied twice from 1-set deficits and edged West Bladen 15-13 in the final set to pull out a 3-2 non-conference volleyball victory by set scores of 18-25, 25-21, 19-25, 25-23 and 15-13. It was the 2nd consecutive 2-point, 5th-set loss for the Lady Knights.
Senior Whitney McLean blasted in 18 kills, 3 aces and 6 service points to lead the Lady Knight attack. Senior Emily Young fired in 17 service points, 6 aces, 2 kills and dished out 12 assists. Senior Makayla Wright banged in 9 kills, 8 service points, an ace and had 1 dig.
Junior Trinity Meares slammed in 5 kills, 2 service points and 2 blocks for West. Junior Jenna McLean provided 6 assists, 5 service points and 2 aces. Senior Kylie Durden knocked in 5 service points and an ace.
Junior Maddie Walters slammed in 5 kills, 2 blocks, a service points and was credited with 3 assists for the Lady Knights. Senior Kaitlynn Brisson knocked in 2 kills.
West Bladen will host West Columbus Tuesday.
