Also I voted for Trump. Also I’m a critic of his as well. I think he did an awesome job for this country financially compared to Biden. Under Trump I was spending a lot less money on everything. I think wiping out student debt on my dime while inflation is sky high was one of the dumbest moves I’ve seen in a while. Reminds me of Jimmy Carter. God Bless them both but they don’t know what they are doing in Washington. As far as Trump I believe he was arrogant, prideful and didn’t know when to shut up. He couldn’t handle criticism well. But financially he did awesome for America and our military was stronger and other nations respected and feared us more. This is all my opinion. I wasn’t taking any cheap shots or bashing you Patsy or anyone else. We should all pray for one another and especially for our country and leadership no matter our differences of opinion. This republican vs democrat mess makes me sick. These people are elected to serve the American people and do what’s best for the majority not push personal agendas.

I didn’t single anyone out on here. I said hello everyone. I read several posts from multiple people. It’s an opinionated banter. Joe Biden is not a Christian. He’s a catholic. Catholicism is not the same as Christianity, it is a legalistic cult like the Pharisees in the Bible. It’s works based. The Catholic Church has their faith in the pope and whatever Rome says. Catholics are discouraged from studying Gods Word outside of what the pope or their priests say. I know this because I have a friend who came out of the Catholic Church and told me this. He said their is a difference between Catholicism and true Christianity. That comment about the Democratic Party being in line with God?? I didn’t know that God was for the premeditated murder of the unborn (abortion). They are the party that says my body my choice. As a Christian I can’t support them for that.

I have one question. Why are we using God’s Holy Word to bash one another? God doesn’t care about political parties because it’s irrelevant to Him. By the way neither Joe Biden or Donald Trump are Christians. I judge everything by Gods Word. Jesus said a tree is known by the fruit it bears. Neither of these men have the fruit of the Spirit. My faith and trust is in the finished work of Christ not in democrats or republicans. The Word of God says that Christians do not seek the counsel of the ungodly. I’m unaffiliated because both sides are evil and wicked. Although I usually vote republican because I cannot stand for the premeditated murder of the unborn or sexually immoral lifestyles. You all have free will in this country to speak your mind and vote how you wish. Let’s leave God and His Word out of politics if it’s gonna be used in a hypocritical manner. We are to be humble and love one another and pray for one another and to walk in the truth and righteousness of God. We are in the last days. Let’s live like it. We’re not all going to agree on everything, but one thing we better find common ground on is who Jesus is and if we are truly obeying His Word. Don’t identify yourself as a democrat or a republican. I have never felt that a strong education was a guarantee of financial success, I am fairly sure it increases the odds of achieving some type of financial security. I have known many who never went beyond a middle school education and most have spent their lives in dead end, hard labor work. I am sure there are exceptions…. But not many.

Nobody on here that I have seen has conflated education with success. The sarcastic comments directed at Mr. McIntyre insinuated that his correct use of words, grammar, and spelling were only because he has a degree from a prestigious university. Don’t people learn those things in elementary and high school? I certainly did, my children did, and so did Brad.

Education or the perception of education can be overrated. My grandfather left school either in or just after 8th grade. My grandmother married him at 14 and I am not quite sure how far she went in school. They ended up with a successful farm and two businesses here in the county. They sold on credit and some defaulted to the tune of about $1 million. My grandparents paid their bills, gave to many, and made it to death in their own home. I would say that is a successful life with little education.
I learned a while ago that education level is not a measure of success. Sure, a person may be able to punctuate a sentence, but they may be reliant upon government assistance, friends, or family to survive. The people you think can't punctuate may be wealthy and successful people.

GC… Every night I pray that the Republcan Party will choose Donald Trump as their candidate for President. It's quite refreshing to see NC's US Democratic Senatoral candidate Cheri Beasley polling ahead of right wing nut and Trump endorsed candidate Ted Budd. I think her popularity is bolstered by her not taking PAC or corporate money and owing them favors when she gets to Washington unlike Ted Budd who is sponsored by the NRA and other Big Money donating companies. Herb, It was divulged on this site that you were a Duke University graduate by you or one of your liberal friends. Probably to show that you were highly educated. Graduating from Duke does carry with it the connotation that one of their graduates is highly educated. Again, having worked in the Bladen County school system; word travels fast about where our teachers and administrators received their higher education. What kind of esteem does it show in a person that gets all puffed up about the fact that they attended Duke. Why, someone who has the educational background like me does not care if people know I attended the FARMERS UNITVERSITY of Bladen County, then attended Bladen County Schools and graduated bfore as one of your fellow posters has said, "It's in even a bigger mess than I thought, then to Mt' Olive Jr. College, then to NC State University, and finally the United State ARMy academy at FORT BRAGG where they taught me it is perfectly alright to be militarily educated at FORT BRAGG. Guess what? Not once did it ever cross my mind that I was being militarily educated at an Army base named in honor of a military officer of the CSA. Be proud of where you were educated Herb, brag on it to people who are concerned and never "put down" any place in your past that helped educate you. Just learned about the sheriff deputy, Ned Byrd, who was killed in the line of duty. Governor Cooper, who stated that the pledge of allegiance is recited at the start of each council of state meeting, has asked that the state flag be lowered to half-staff in honor of deputy Byrd. I'm on my way to lower the flag in my front yard to half staff, say the pledge, and whisper a prayer for Deputy Byrd's family. God bless them one and all.

You talk about people having respect for one another; people in Bladen County lost all respect for you several years ago with your little antics when you went on the Board of elections. Yet, from what I have observed from the inside lane of Hwy 87 going north toward Fayetteville; you as an American citizen fly that flag on your residence. Add to that the fact that you did not move out of the United States of America when President Donald J Trump was President of this great country and not once di I ever recall him not saluting the flag not saying the pledge when it was appropriate. Equate that to when President Obama was inaugurated, instead of saluting the service person assigned to him, instead he reached out his hand to shake it; just a forshadowing of his treatment of the military for eight years.

Any educated person who has been raised in this country knows there is something mighty wrong with what is going on these days. Just look at the things that have happened to our country since January 20,2021. The signs of the time are appearing everywhere; and President Trump is not even President anymore.
