Couch Potato: When The Scheduled Schedule Becomes The Unscheduled Schedule

By Sonny Jones

There’s the scheduled schedule and the real schedule. How is a high school sports fan supposed to keep up?

The scheduled schedule is the one that’s released prior to the season. It may be listed on posters, calendars or other promotional material.

The real schedule is when the scheduled schedule becomes the unscheduled schedule. The unscheduled schedule occurs when weather or school events or disease interfere with the scheduled schedule.

Got it?

Bladen Online is here to help you keep up with the unscheduled schedule as much as possible with our Bladen County Sports Master Schedule (click here). Hopefully, we’ll master the unscheduled master schedule so you’ll know when games are scheduled, even if originally those games were unscheduled.

Huh?

Just check the master schedule. It will have high schools, middle schools and, hopefully, other leagues as available.

Also, a standings page (click here) has been created to keep up with, well, league standings. Hence the name.

Enjoy these Bladen Online features so you can fill out your personal schedule of Bladen County sports’ scheduled and unscheduled games.

TUESDAY’S PICK TO CLICK

Candace Parker will have a double-double in points and rebounds to help Chicago beat New York to advance in the WNBA playoffs. There’s just no way the former Olympic gold medalist, NCAA champion and WNBA champion will allow her team, which tied for the best regular-season record, to be eliminated in the first round.

MONDAY’S PICK: Max Scherzer threw seven shutout innings July 27 against the New York Yankees. Less than a month later he’s back on the mound for the Mets against the Bronx Bombers who haven’t done much bombing this month. He may allow a run or two, but it will be enough for another Mets win. RESULTS: Scherzer allowed four runs in 6.2 innings in the Mets’ 4-2 loss.
